Chef Willy Trullas Moreno has made a name for himself through Tomatito, the restaurant he first opened in 2014, in Shanghai. Now he’s branching out into new areas, recently opening another Tomatito outpost, this time in the Infinitus Mall in Xintiandi, Shanghai.

The new Tomatito includes a spacious terrace and fun décor, including items from Spanish bars of the 1980s. The team of chefs works closely with local producers with a view to using quality, fresh ingredients and specific items are imported directly from Spain.

The original Tomatito is extremely popular, thanks to its delicious tapas selection. Menu highlights at both restaurants include a range of Spanish cheese and Ibérico cold cuts; tinned fish like razor clams, cockles, white anchovies, and baby sardines; croquettes, squid, patatas bravas, Spanish omelet, fried duck eggs with chistorra sausage, gazpacho, seafood soup, Galician-style octopus, fresh mussels, Spanish red prawns, garlic shrimp, marinated lamb skewers, meatballs, pluma, paella, and much more.

Chef Trullas Moreno also runs El Willy restaurant, and originally opened Tomatito as that locale’s “little brother.” His F&B group has ambitious plans for the future and is looking to double in size by 2020. Does that mean yet another Tomatito or El Willy? Watch this space to find out!
