A very singular Spanish wine event is going down in London on June 25th. A lecture and wine tasting entitled “Spanish Wine: A Story of Adventurers, Dreamers and Poets” will be presented at The Rag – Army & Navy Club, a prestigious private members club, organized by the Spanish Wine Federation and the Cervantes Institute.

The lecture will be given by Juan Manuel Bellver, Lavinia Spain’s director and wine critic, and the tasting will be led by Borja Prada, a winemaker at Bodegas Valdesil. A special tasting room will be set up for this exclusive event, which is sold out. The main focus will be wines from Valdeorras, in Galicia, and guests will sample whites made from Godello grapes and reds made from Mencia grapes.

Bellver will provide guests with a bit of history about winemaking in Spain and the region, and Prada will share his extensive knowledge and experience. His family has been in the business since the 1890s, and their whites are considered to be among the best in Spain.
