Who is Iris Schot?
From an early age I knew for sure, the hospitality industry, that's where I want to go. The beautiful profession that stands for hospitality, enjoying good quality and good food. The beautiful things in life… After my education Horeca Entrepreneur/Manager at the Albeda colleague, I started working at restaurant De Librije***. My love for cheese has developed further there and after following the cheese course in Beverwijk I started working as a fromager. Because cheese and wine are a good combination, I wanted to further develop my knowledge about wine and I obtained my WSET 2 wine diploma. In 2018 I participated in the 'talented fromager of the year' competition of Proefschrift. And I can proudly say that I was able to win the title of 'talented fromager of the year'. After a nice and instructive time working at restaurant Inter Scaldes*** I was sure. I want to fully focus on the beautiful and versatile cheese product!
I started La chica del Queso from a great passion for cheese. A beautiful product through the experience of delicious flavors. La chica del queso is the literal Spanish translation for cheese girl. Spanish is a language spoken with great passion. And that's how I let my passion for cheese speak.
