A new alliance in Mexico will help increase access to Spanish products in that country. The two players are El Corte Inglés, the famous Spanish department store with a strong presence in Spain, Portugal and also Mexico, and Soriana, the second-largest supermarket chain in Mexico, with 650 stores throughout the country.

Soriana will now sell a range of typical Spanish products, such as olive oil, olives, sauces, canned vegetables, cookies and juices. El Corte Inglés is truly committed to internationalization, and has developed relationships that enable it to promote and sell Spanish products all around the world. It’s working with Globus to sell gourmet items in Switzerland; with Intercorp and Supermercados Peruanos in Peru; with Alosra in Bahrein and Saudi Arabia; with Fenwick in the UK; and with Farmavenda in Cuba.

Soriana will leverage the situation and look to showcase top-flight Mexican products in El Corte Inglés stores on the Iberian Peninsula.
